Katoomba DentalAbout us
ABOUT USAbout Our Practice
Our practice has been on this site for many years but became recognisable as today’s Katoomba Dental Practice in 1998. Our highly skilled and experienced partners, Dr Chih Liu and Dr Naveed Jamil have been working together for over 25 years.
They are supported by associate dentist, Dr Karuna Khurana, dental therapists, Sophie McKay, Abbie Staton and Samah Sattar, and a first class team of dental hygienists to ensure the best care and treatment for you.
All of our dentists and health care professionals are committed to continuing professional development enabling them to keep abreast of changing skills and advances in technology. Our partners are also Denplan Excel accredited. Denplan Excel is an independently validated comprehensive clinical governance programme that ensures our quality of care, treatment and service are amongst the best available. Meaning that our practice exceeds standards of clinical governance, statutory requirements and industry best practice recommendations. It is a visible sign of our commitment to quality and assures you of the high standards we have set ourselves.
Our building is a converted detached house with its own car park. Access to the building is step free and the double doors can be opened to allow wheelchairs through. All of our dentists work on the ground floor with standard width door ways which fit most wheelchairs. The dedicated hygienist and therapy surgeries are located on the first floor (access by fairly steep stairs) but arrangements can be made to see patients in a ground floor surgery. Please note that our toilet is on the ground floor but is only suitable for the ambulant disabled and not wheelchair users. Please let us know if you have any special needs or requirements or wish to visit the practice before choosing to join us.

Oral Cancer Screening
Chances of Oral cancer is increased by tobacco and alcohol use. Early detection of oral cancer can make a big difference. Anyone can be affected by mouth cancer, whether they have their own teeth or not. Mouth cancers are more common in people over 40, particularly men. We do routinely screen for mouth cancer at our practice.
