Tooth Coloured Fillings
A filling replaces part of a tooth that has been lost because of decay or accidental damage. Nowadays fillings are not only functional but can be natural-looking as well. Many people don’t want silver fillings that show when they laugh or smile because they are more conscious about the way they look.
Tooth-coloured fillings are a more modern dental material and these are bonded to your tooth, sometimes referred to as ‘composite bonding’. After the filling has been placed, your dentist will then smooth and contour the tooth to ensure that you can bite together comfortably and that your tooth looks natural.
Before Tooth Coloured Filling
Our patient was distressed when she broke her front tooth just before her daughter’s graduation and was desperate to get it fixed in time for the photos.
After Tooth Coloured Filling
Dr Liu came to the rescue and rebuilt her tooth and matched the colour and shape perfectly. The tooth looks totally natural and the procedure was quick, easy and totally pain free (the patient’s own words).
In some cases where a large filling is needed a porcelain replacement may be required instead. This is known as an inlay or a crown depending on the damage to the tooth. This can also be done at Katoomba in a single visit as we have our own computer-aided ‘3-D Cerec’ system on site. Further details about this treatment are also in this section.
